* Communication Support Officers work in the Emergency 911 Communications Center screening and processing non-emergency calls for law enforcement, fire and medical aid services, and take reports.
* Communication Officers receive routine calls and emergency 911 calls for law enforcement and fire/medical aid agencies and relay information to appropriate dispatchers or communications centers.
* Dispatchers process requests for law enforcement service; determine the nature, location and severity of emergencies; and dispatch appropriate personnel, apparatus and equipment, ensuring officer safety to the extent possible.
